Headless setup boot got stuck

I’ve tried with Debian and Ubuntu I’ve installed it at my office desk perfectly, it boot, it get an IP via DHCP and I can connect via ssh, etc.
But then if I shutdown disconnect and reconnect at the place it will be working headless, never get ssh available.

If I check on my DHCP server it never take an IP, so probably I guess is probably related to not founding any monitor and got stuck during boot.

Is there any config file I must change to tell it to not check if monitor is present?
If the reason could be other I hear you

Thanks in advance

Fernando G. Vai discord que tens lá imagens bem bacanas do MonkaBlat e parece que já vêm c tudo optimizado.

Thats the one Enjoy.

Anyway was looking in thet discord channel for some RockPi5 Image and even when found comments mentioning monkyablat image no one provides the link to download it.
After looking a little bit more I’ve found MonkyaBlat GitHub repository but couldn’t found an image for rockpi5 within there :frowning:

You should provide more info.
A display monitor is not a requirement for booting.

  • same power brick? Specification?
  • same network link speed?
  • Is any usb device attached?

Watch for the blue led (heartbeat), if it is beating the kernel is loaded and running, it might have crashed or you have problems with the network connector. Type in the user/password and then sudo shutdown -h now (password) and see if it shutdowns.

Using some power supply ( > 12v ) may reboot the board, read about pd issues on the forum.

I may have the same issue. No solution in sight yet.

I just received my Rock 5b, flashed the provided debian image and got going (headless via ssh). Then I wanted to reposition the 5b, executed shutdown and since then it would not power up again.

  • The power button down not seem to do anything, clicks and long presses
  • I tried both my laptop PD plug (which I used during the initial setup) as well as the 65W plug that I ordered together from AllnetChina
  • with and without LAN cable
  • The LED stays green - no blinking or a trace of blue
  • I connected an HDMI cable, nothing
  • no other devices attached except for the fan (which was there during the initial setup)

Any ideas?

Finally found the reason and it wasn’t the monitor.
I’ve was using my laptop PD at my desk and the PD sold within the RockPi by AllNetChina at the server spot place.
Seems that the power source being sold by AllNetChina with the RockPi is useless for it purpose. :rage:

I changed the power source and everithing started to work

I told you to follow the chat on discord…
Basically what U need is a 12V 3A DC connector.
U wont find them easy anywhere.
U will find dc cables of 12v 3a but then you can attach an converter to type C.

I believe the key for this is 3A it also seems like that Rasp Pi 4B plug works perfectly fine and its just 5V 3A but who tested those didnt had wifi module on so its on its limit but does work.

Myself personally I am going to try this one:
