The Getting Started guides mentions that you can reach the RockPi S using the rockpis.local mDNS address.

However at least with the Ubuntu image this doesn’t work until you first install the avahi-daemon avahi-autoipd apt packages.

It would be useful if they were installed by default in the Ubuntu image.
rockpis.local mDNS service is provided by your router network or PC in the network, not ROCK Pi S itself, though it can. If you are running Windows, you can install Bonjour,
