Fedora 42 on Orion 6

Hi there,
I’ve just installed Fedora 42 ( BIOS 9.0.0, ACPI).
Questions: outout from inxi -F:
CPU:
Info: 8-core model: N/A bits: 64 type: MCP
Speed (MHz): avg: 1079 min/max: 800/2600:2300:2200:2500 cores: 1: 1079 2: 1079 3: 1079 4: 1079
5: 1079 6: 1079 7: 1079 8: 1079

Why are only 8 CPUs, the Cortex A720 ? Where are the A520 ?

I found on my very old Workstation NVIDIA GK107 [GeForce GT 630 OEM} which is running fine with the nouveau driver. Not the fastet GPU but it’s working for the fist steps till I get a better one.

I am trying to get my NVIDIA GT 730 to work. Which boot parameter do you use to get HDMI output. I am struggling. Use DP for internal graphics but change to external graphics
will not happen. not with nouveau nor nvidia-tesla-470 driver.
Any hint will be helpfull.

Uli

I don’t have any boot parameter. On my system: everything from BIOS is on onboard GPU, screen on NVIDIA card is only when X (Wayland) is running

The 9.x BIOS is a CIX hack job to get arm certification, which requires Windows to work. Right now, Windows fails if the little cores are enabled, so they just disabled them to get a pass.

The 0.3.0 BIOS will work with Fedora 42 (in ACPI mode) and has all 12 cores.

My orion doesn’t even start gdm3 or inits to level 3, only black screen.
Maybe someone else does has an idea ?

Thanks a lot for this hint, I will downgrade the BIOS to 0.3.0.

Fedora Rawhide and GT 730 works, but radxa not. But Wlan Ax 200 is still not working.

Should be working with the next BIOS update, as per the Radxa team.

If Radxa is talking to you then they should talk to others as well.
All questions in this forum about bios and debian updates have not been answered.
I already have lost faith in Radxa. If they depend on cix we never will see updates.

I just repeated what was said in the forum and what they have pulled as commit in the edk on their Github.
