Fan control modules

I cant seem to be able to control the fan on the board and its really, really loud, while the temps are all hovering over the 30 degree mark.

Is there a module I need or something to be able to set the pwr for it? Would really like to make it more silent, I even removed it and while idle it doesnt seem to be a problem so for sure a fan curve can be added that its less aggressive

cheers

At least with 6.12+ and ACPI, the board is dead silent after a very short burst at boot time.
I suppose you are using a 6.1 kernel?

Just whatever is on debian default, but I dont have it on ACPI I think, IIRC.

I will have a look, thanks!

“debian default” doesn’t mean much, I’m afraid.

The bullseye default kernel is 6.1, which will make you totally deaf.
The trixie kernel is (currently) 6.12, which will spare your hearing.

That’s of course with the official Debian images – I’m not touching the Radxa images with a bargepole…

sorry I meant debian default as the image that is on the quickstart. Did not had time to look at the official ones from the distro vendors.

Will jump into testing a pure debian 12 from upstream, thanks!

I actually had an fedora 41 usb stick around from a couple of other tests and was able to install that and wow. Fan is like normal? like you can have this on for more than 5 minutes.

Thanks for the help folks!
