Failing to find root device: "write error" during boot of Debian

Hello everybody,

Hope all is well!
I am getting this error while booting Debian on my N10 A:

[ 5.478059] RAMDISK: gzip image found at block 0
[ 5.481744] RAMDISK: incomplete write (31495 != 32768)
[ 5.481801] write error
[ 5.481895] Waiting for root device UUID=e8dbd6ca-540b-4343-882c-7cdac5c2a95c…

Does anyone know how to fix it?

There was a similar problem with the RockPi S that has been resolved with the 2020.06.16 release:

Fix the issue of failing to find root device. System boot log may show like this.

[ 1.478059] RAMDISK: gzip image found at block 0
[ 1.581744] RAMDISK: incomplete write (23864 != 32768)
[ 1.581801] write error
[ 1.581895] Waiting for root device UUID=37055840-4ec4-444f-979b-9e47ee4bd848…
Kernel version: 4.4.143-52-rockchip-g7ed61b60d176

I’m sorry for the bug.

Do you have any access to the boot partition?

If you can access to the boot partition, edit /boot/uEnv.txt and change the initrdsize value, which is the hexadecimal size of /boot/initrd.img-$(uname -r)

Hi, @maximilian . You need to download the latest ROCK Pi N10 Debian system images from Today we have released the ones.
