Enabling PoE on rock5b without PoE hat

Drivers for the fan? Otherwise what else for? This powers the SBC.

Yeah seems like the PoE hat just works but the fan doesn’t really turn on unfortunately. I think I have to use rsetup.

Hi all. Regarding powering the Rock5B via PoE:

The Rock5B Plus is marketed as supporting Power over Ethernet. Does it actually support it out of the box, or must the Rock5B+ be extended with a HAT PCB? If so which is compatible with Rock5B+ and where buy?

As for photos, could you share some photo of your Rock5B+ or Rock5B equipped with the RockPi 23W PoE HAT and the Waveshare HAT?

Which Waveshare HAT do you mean in particular, one of those listed at https://www.waveshare.com/poe-hat-f.htm ?

For an alternative route, why don’t you just get a “PoE splitter” to USB PD + 2500M or 1000M ethernet?

There does not appear to be any PoE splitter for 2500M ethernet yet. Procet sell one that

Update: This video shows the Radxa HAT on the Rock5B/Rock5B+. Great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzKJ2_lPxZ8

You can see the PoE HAT is listed as compatible at the end of 5B+ product page: https://radxa.com/products/rock5/5bp

Is there any plan to design a high power board? maybe POE++ (802.3 bt) to power the board when it has full peripherals?

It will be huge and/or loud to cool 90W power supply.
