Does M.2 slot support 2TB SSD?

Is it possible to use 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD? For example ADATA XPG GAMMIX S552TB

SSD capacity is not something that can affect compatibility. Power consumption, chips on 1 or 2 sides in tight spaces yes, but capacity is irrelevant.

Thank you, but what are the limits of power consumption?

If a board is properly made it should power any SSD.

Don’t forget to turn the ASPM in the BIOS on. Default it is off, don’t know why. Without it the NVMe is overheating, even supplying pcie_aspm=force as the linux command line parameter does not help.

yes, ASPM should always be on, as well as C states (also off by default).

Are you guys sure its ASPM is off ? Mine down clocks the PCIe when its idle on windows 11.

With Bios 002 it is off by default. Not sure what Win11 can do to override the bios setting. Linux even with the pcie_aspm=force can not switch it on.

How to turn on the ASPM in BIOS, (bios rel date: 08/19/2024)
Help is appreciated.

In the custom v002 bios “Radxa X4 custom BIOS V002 T: supports IBECC option and hidden option enablement” it is here:

CHIPSET > PCH-IO > PCI-EXPRESS CONFIGURATION > PCI EXPRESS ROOT PORT 9 > ASPM > L1

You can do it for all three ports. One is NVMe, one is WiFi and the last one is Ethernet.

Thank you for quicker reply, clarification on below will be helpful.

  1. My SBC is X4 without onboard eMMC
  2. I already have X-V004 (03/05/2025) - the CHIPSET screen is empty

Can i flash BIOS V002 T is this scenario?

No need, There is a hidden shortcut key here (ctrl+U)
