I found a dealing offering two differently priced 8GB Rock 5Bs: RS119-D8 vs RS119-B8. The D8-version sells for 100$ more compared to the B8-version. What is the difference between both boards?

The D8 and B8 string should have no functionality difference. The board version such as v1.42 is more important. If the B8 version is v1.42, choose B8 version.
Thank you for your reply. So according to the images provided by the shop there seem to be two different versions out there with quite different layout. Is the matching between version and harware layout correct?
There is this hardware sold as RS119-B8
And this as RS119-D8
The hw version is different. The B8 is v1.42, which is the MP version. The D8 is v1.3, the early developers version. You can find the difference here:
