For the noobs out there.
I bought the RockPi to use it as a NAS. After tinkering with it for a while and installing different software using the Armbian and Debian distros. I discovered DietPi https://dietpi.com/#
The RockPi isn’t on the supported list but they say “Convert any Debian image, into a DietPi system.”
So I installed a fresh copy of Debian and followed these instructions. https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/issues/1285#issue-280771944
It strips all the unnecessary software and gives you the option to configure as you please.
There are so many software options and you can decide what the ultimate use is for your RockPi.
