CM5 with CM5 carrier board --> HDMI over USB C

I have been trying to get HDMI over USBC on the CM5 carrier board. Ive enabled all the USB C otg overlays, but nothing I have tried has enabled HDMI over USB C.

Is this even possible with the Radxa Carrier board?
If so, what do I need to do to make it work? This is the whole reason I bought the carrier board to utilize the “full feature USB C” port as advertised. I realize it’s listed as ALT-DP but from my understanding the HDMI is part of that specification.

Give me some good news!
Thank you.

Hi, @pterodyne

I think you mean you need USB C video output with a USB C to HDMI dongle?

If yes, you can just download the cm5+cm5 io board image and it’s enabled by default. If you don’t have video output, please send your USB C to HDMI dongle model. Please also check if directly HDMI output from cm5 io baord is working properly.

Actually in this exact case I am speaking of a monitor with USBC inputs. These use HDMI signalling in the USB C cable (not display link). I didn’t try a dongle or a straight converter. Do we know what signals are enabled by default on the USB C port? You said HDMI, but usb HOST as well?
