Cannot bring up the board following the Quick Start Guide

Got my board for testing.
However it looks like either instructions are not up to date - or the latest image (b6) has issues.

Following this:
https ://docs.radxa.com/en/orion/o6/getting-started/quick-start

It says

Visit the Download Page and download the Debian 12 pre‑installed image.

However on
https ://docs.radxa.com/en/orion/o6/download

there are two images for Debian 12. The description for them is poorly translated from Chinese and not entirely clear. I tried both of them with the following results:
orion-o6-debian12-preinstalled-desktop-b6.img
The progression is similar to what is described in the Quick Start Page, I can see the following screen

and boot into Debian desktop.
HOWEVER

  1. I can only see Debian desktop if I connect the screen with USB-C. If I connect with DisplayPort / HDMI cables, the screen stays black indefinitely (no signal).
  2. There is no image present in home folder to flash to NVME drive with Ethcher.

The progression here is not described anywhere - I did not see it in Quick Start or any of the videos on the Internet. After choosing flash drive as Boot Device I get into this screen

No matter what option (Install or Graphical Install) I choose there, the video signal disappears from all possible video outputs (I tried DispalyPort, USB-C and HDMI). The green light stays on and blue light blinks rapidly two times with some interval - I get the same blinking pattern when booted into Debian Dekstop with orion-o6-debian12-preinstalled-desktop-b6.img, so my guess is that the board is active, but there is no output.

My next option is to flash NVME with my desktop - but I figure not everyone has that option, so it would be nice to investigate what is wrong and correct the image or the quick start guide.

This seems like an issue with the latest debian image or latest firmware, I’ve also experienced this, Not sure what the combo is but try using either the 0.2.1 firmware, 9.0.0 firmware (systemready) and using an older version of debian.

Alternatively use a mainline distro which would work perfectly fine (Excluding EFIFB that seems to not work properly)

Hey, thanks for the reply!
I updated the BIOS from 0.2.2-1 to the latest (0.3.0-1) and I can progress now(i.e. there is video signal after choosing Install). :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
