It needs a spi flash, but there is no spi flash out of box, so I think it a little difficult for you.
besides why do you want to boot from USB.
Oh, I don’t need to boot from USB, it’s just that is working out of the box on Raspberry Pis. Also, when flashing and testing many images, it’s a bit faster using a fast USB stick rather than a SD card.
