I have included a PKGBUILD for the kernel in that image. If you run it and build the latest 6.15 rc it should work on the new RDNA as patches got merged a few days ago. I will eventually have time to potentially provide a new image this weekend, but it looks like 6.6 with IGPU is still not going to be ready yet (stuff is missing), so next image will probably just be updates and a few missing packages. I only have a single RDNA 2 but it would be troublesome to move it to the Orion for testing, so not sure that I will be testing the new AMDGPU patches myself unless I buy a new GPU this summer. (I have a big fat boi with EKWB block, triple 8-pin, $1800 cost RDNA2 and don’t want to turn this PC off)
FYI you can boot that image on QEMU on an x86 PC then use that to re-build and install the updated kernel, then just move the SSD to the Orion and have it work. But it would be faster to try to build on the Orion. Maybe pass in a kernel param to avoid loading GPU driver and try getting just terminal and nomodeset going. Then run the build from console.
I compiled kernel 6.15-rc7 in Bredos on Orion o6 but it still doesn’t work. I don’t have an x86 machine with a pci slot, I only have a GMHtec mini pc (I have no way to test the SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 6400 4GB GDDR6 64bit card that works without an ATX power supply) so I can’t test the card in windows x86, in windows arm I have an image, it works fine. What solution would there be to see if it works in Linux?
