You don’t need to remove eMMC, just run the Ubuntu\Debian image from Radxa and clear the first 16Mb on eMMC (this is easily done with a single command from the terminal). After that, you can start any system from the SD card. But if you plan to use NVMe as the main carrier, install u-boot in SPI (please note that you need to install a new u-boot-SPI with support for starting from USB and fixed device polling order). Then you can run any version from the SD card and USB, including the official versions of Armbina. And to install them on NVMe.
