Should I wait for rock 6??? or just got the rock 5a/c/itx with sata hat.
But rock 5 doesn’t have 2.5g ethernet RJ45. itx can’t power up by case and provide the power for case.
But rock 6 is release soon??or need wait for a long time?

A strong suggestion… not a requirement is ECC use. If you go to all the effort of making the storage bullet proof, in reference, to data integrity… RAID, etc., the rare but not impossible bit flipping, memory corrupting scenarios, defeats the effort to protect data via RAID, etc. There is, true, a long debate on ECC memory use with NAS or even SAN, so I suggest it, not require it. My current NAS which is based an older X64 PC system, I upgraded to ECC memory because the OS, main-board and processor supported it. When I have to a SBC based NAS, I plan to consider ECC as part of that new system. Not a deal breaker, but definitely leaning in that direction.
Oh… and just to be able to keep my ‘Responsible NAS Operator card’… RAID is not a backup solution! It is a data protection methodology. You always always need a strong backup strategy regardless of using RAID. This is my 30 year (now retired) as an enterprise datacenter and /virtualization infrastructure design engineer statement.
