Ameridroid Rock 5B Metal Case!
that was good advice on the 0.8mm shim
Recently I got around to puting my 5B in the metal case, it’s very neat and the shim helped with contact for sure. The temp under load is about 5C higherish maybe than with the old thermalright heatsink I had on (45-47C to 50-52C) but it’s still cooling pretty well and it’s alot nicer and neater in a case. I actually like this metal case it’s a shame you can’t get one for an Orange Pi 5.
I have several questions:
Has anyone tried to drill 2 holes on the green part to install 2 sma connectors for wifi antennas?
What is the suggested thermal pad size to fill the gap in between nvme chips and the metal surface?
Is it also suggested to fill the SOC gap between the metal block?
Has anyone noticed wifi m2 chip getting overheated? Any suggestion to integrate this to the passive cooling? the gap will be too big?
