Am I just really uninformed?

This is the 3rd RockPi 4c Plus that I have purchased and I am experiencing the same issue with all of them so I am assuming this is completely my fault and lack of understanding these SBCs.

When I plug the unit in, I get a solid green light and no video at all. Nothing, my monitors say there is no input coming from the HDMI port. Here is what I have tried.

  1. Different power supplies (I am using the ones that cam with the units which are 5v/3a and I have also tried 5v/5a.
  2. different monitors - Al having direct HDMI ports so there is no strange cable conversions happening
  3. With and without boot media. I am using a MicroSD card 16GB. Verified to work on my raspberry Pi and my computer can see the card and read and write to it.

I simply get no video at all, just a black screen. I have searched the forum, google, and even asked chatGPT and only 1 post that referred someone to burn a new SPI image. I can do that, but is that what I am missing? they simply do not show any video until you burn a ROM image?

Any direction for these stupid questions would really help me. Seems Odd that all three would have same issue.

thanks,

Rob

I was able to solve the issue. I found out that there is nothing that comes up on the screen for a POST or BIOS message. If you get a solid green light and no blue flashing light its likely that you are trying to boot the wrong image. In my case it was not clear to me to select the correct model (in this case RockPi 4c+) from the green buttons in the download section. I had created an image for a 4B and not a 4C. once I recreated the image and applied power with the MicroSD installed I started to se a blue flashing light and then a prompt. All is good in the world. I hope this helps others.
