Hi All!, Question: i have an old power source from a notebook, it bring 18V (no 15v, no 20v).
What if i use it with my Rock Pi X?
Actually i`m using te same charger with a stepdown to 9v and works great.
Thanks in advance.
Adapter 18V for Rock Pi X
The Rock Pi X uses USB PD, which expects an initial 5V before communicating with the charger to request higher voltages. Connecting a supply higher than 5V without negotiation can damage the circuitry, so I highly recommend against it. A proper USB PD supply should not be difficult or expensive to obtain.
12V dummy adapter is recommended on wiki page, so in theory because PD is supporter up to 20V it might work. But I would contact official technical support first if I am you.
