Activating Dual MIPI DSI Displays on Radxa Rock3 (RK3566)

Hello Radxa community,

I’m currently working on a project using the Radxa Rock3 Compute Module (RK3566) and I’ve successfully activated one MIPI DSI display (DSI0) for the Android Kernel. However, I’m facing challenges with activating the second MIPI DSI display (DSI1).

My setup includes two MIPI DSI displays, and I’m using the Radxa Rock3 as the compute module. I’ve gone through the technical documentation, but I’m looking for practical advice on how to get both displays up and running.

I’m eager to hear from anyone who has experience with this or any advice, tips, or resources you can provide. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and support.

Radxa CM3(RK3566) can only support one display because of the SoC design limitation. You should use CM3I(RK3568) if you want multiple display, RK3568 supports up to 3x display with following resolution:

  • Video output0, up to 4096x2304@60Hz resolution
  • Video output1, up to 2048x1536@60Hz resolution
  • Video output2, up to 1920x1080@60Hz resolution

Thanks for your reply.

Hello, what about CM5, does it supports dual MIPI display ?

Yes. CM5 can support 2x MIPI display. There are two connectors exported on the CM5 IO board, one for Radxa display 8/10 and one for RPi 7 inch display.
