There is a video review of Rock Pi 4B which tests the NVME speed, and in 4:56 you can see that the measured speed is ~500MB/s. In the official page, in the section “IO Performance”, the reported values are ~1000MB/s. Why is there such discrepancy? Anyone else tested the speed?
I need to make a decision regarding the memory type (NVME vs SATA), and I need to understand the actual speed capabilities to get the best price/performance option.
Because person doing benchmarks knows nothing about that. But he knows how to entertain people.
He used worse drive he could find and he didn’t compare it with anything …

I suspect the reason may be that he didn’t switch to PCIE2.
Can you please tell which speed values have you observed on NVME?
I suspect he didn’t research this topic at all. He download first image he found, grab first ssd he found and made a video. Whatever he publish, crowd cheers.
