A7S booting from USB nvme

Hey hey anyone know how to boot from an USB nvme drive?

Do we have any other way to use anything besides the micro SD to use this board?

I am new to it and didn’t know about the missing emmc slot, I thought we had some kind of emmc slot to plug it there, but look like if I want to use anything besides the micro SD I really don’t have any other option.

Thanks

The slot is not missing, it’s just a place where an eMMC module can be soldered. They never said it has a slot…

And yes, you can try armbian (this fork for now Releases · NickAlilovic/build · GitHub ), copy the rootfs to nvme, point armbian to it (change the UUID!) and use the SD card only as the /boot partition.

Thanks man, I did that with the openclaw image from radxa and is working.

So does that mean that those images work for the A7S then … ?

If so which one, as there is one for the A7A and A7Z, but nothing for A7S.

There is a universal image for all A733 boards

Here is where I got the openclaw image

Thanks for that.

@teamradxa: what’s the eta for the heatsink someone mentioned?

Probably too late but would be good if it accommodated the fpc with an m2 connector somehow. Think ppl would pay for that

Someone is selling it on Taobao in China, but I’m not sure if it’s being made elsewhere.
