5C plugged in as usual, then stops working and smells burned

I was playing around with my 5C Lite and left it plugged in at some point to do something else. Note that the SBC is equipped with the official fan. When I came back to it, no LED was blinking, the screen to which I had it plugged was off, and the card smelled… suspicious. :eyes:

There are no marks on the card (even under the fan), but when plugging it via USBC (using the official Radxa power brick and a cable bought from a local supplier), no LED turns on and the power management IC on the back of the card starts getting very hot and having that tell-tale “shit’s fucked” burned smell.

I’m really just asking for confirmation here: I guess my card is burned, but I don’t think I did anything that should cause this. Is the heat on the power IC normal? Is there a safety lock and I should wait some time before plugging it back? And last but not least, is there by chance a form of warranty?

Hi eous, It may be that there is a short circuit in some places. you can contact the sales for the after-sales servise.

Hi, @eous

What power adapter did you use to power the ROCK 5C Lite?

Hello and thank you for your quick replies!

@jack I was using the official 30W Radxa power block, as well as an US-to-EU adapter and a cable from my local retailer. I have added a picture for details:

Is there a risk that the equipment I used here was not fitting for the 5C Lite?

@Peter.Wang Thank you for your answer. I will reach out to the seller directly!
