4SE XFCE install vs CLI XFCE install

When I install the ‘rock-4se_debian_bullseye_xfce_b38’ image from Github the desktop is very sluggish. The use of the applications menu moves slowly and lags behind the mouse movements. Something is not configured correctly in the system.

But when I use the ‘rock-4se_debian_bullseye_cli_b38’ image and then install XFCE manually, it works like normal, with snappy and not lagging menus.

What’s wrong with the ‘rock-4se_debian_bullseye_xfce_b38’ image?

I have seen a similar issue. What helped for me was to switch off the compositor within xfce, but that wasn’t perfect.

Currently running the KDE based image but if it bugs out I will try CLI image and then xfce.
