3.5mm headphone jack doesn't work on Rock PI 4c+

I have recently bought the rock pi 4c+ and installed debian and also the ubuntu (with kde) for 4c plus variant. When I plugin my audio cable to the headphone jack, no audio output is coming. But when the output is set to hdmi, audio works from the monitor, but when chosen the headphone jack, the audio doesn’t work

You can have a try, and it may help you solve the problem.

The process on the link works to play .wav file once. But next time when i try to play something, it still goes into same problem

Why do I have to run the first two commands each time to play music? Is there any more elegant solution?

I have the Rock 3A and I am experiencing the same thing. HDMI audio works but jack output does not work =( It’s also running on Debian Bullseye

Hello, that is interesting. When executing this script, then sound comes from the audio jack. That is a positive direction =D however, I am wondering if I can choose the audio jack for other applications as well. Let’s keep trying =)

I have tried my best but I don’t come further. From the post

I came bit further and found the command
amixer
the command is further described here:
https://manpages.debian.org/bullseye/alsa-utils/amixer.1.en.html
but from here, I don’t get further as I don’t know how to set or change the values. Maybe you now how it works from this point?

Rock4 and Rock3 are very different.
