I did that. Got the firmware installed as per the directions on the wiki. Got NVME working with the official Linux install, but nothing else will boot.

I think you need a specific spi image for each specific operating system (thatās why I never bothered).
Thatās ridiculous. So I have to reflash it to standard and get an EMMC then.
@Guin3aP1gg
Try the official Rock5B Android nvme image and instructions.
If it still doesnāt work, try to format your nvme and erase the SPI as there might still be Linux leftover bootloader files that might be incompatible.
Iām not able to dm for some reason. I am currently having an issue getting the official radxa wifi module working with your image. Iām using a rock 5b. Maybe thereās an ATV image that youāve built that supports it. Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you for your work. Itās awesome to see community development like yours. Iāve even heard from a friend that the official Android image for the 5b canāt compare to the superior quality and features of your images. Keep up the great work!
When I use the official firmware ROCK-5B-Android12-rkr10-20221103-spi-nvme-rkupdate
, the RKDveTool successfully writes the firmware and starts successfully. However, when I switch to the TV firmware Rock5B_ATV_v1.8_nvme_by_mo123
, it prompts: [The firmware contains partition definitions that are too small for the image size].
Hello, can someone send me the password to unpack the firmware, thanks in advance
@watercoolingmodding Sent. The nvme firmware still needs to be updated since users posted there are flashing problems
I encountered some issues
Why is it that after restarting the device, newly installed apps disappear, while previously deleted apps reappear? I deleted the original Kodi and installed a third-party version of Kodi and some other apps via a USB drive. However, after restarting the device, everything reverted back to the initial state. (System settings remain unchanged, only the apps are affected.)
@lissette_carlr Only thing that can cause that is a system reset.
Have you tried other storage mediums and shut down the device properly through the Settings - Device - Shutdown menu?
Thank you for reply.
Later today, I will try to replace the SD card and reproduce the issue by installing different applications through Google Play and USB.
Yesterday, when I noticed that the installed applications disappeared, I simply tried to find Kodi directly in the settings, clicked uninstall, and then clicked the restart button in the settings. After the device restarted, Kodi reappeared.
After replacing the Samsung SD card, the aforementioned problem did not occur.
Please send me the password.
Thanks in advance
Hi @mo123,
does the 120hz fix comment in the first post mean that 4k@120hz on Rock 5b works now?
Thanks!
@wealas
I think it should work now for most 120hz displays but there might still be some displays that have problems. No one else has so far reported any 120hz problems that had them before.
The Rock 5B nvme image has booting problems, so use the other image.
I will fix it when I get time.
I waited for Radxa to update Android as they promised before I made new firmware 3 weeks ago but seems it never happened.
Thanks, Iāll wait for the nvme fix, Iām not in a hurry.
Iāve downloaded, please send me the password, thanks
Hi. When is the new nvme release on Rock5B with fix gonna come? Maybe you could provide older known working release in the meantime?
hello, password please
