Have you been able to make it work with python or is it just me? Mine have Ubuntu-Bionic as well by the way.

Is the source code available anywhere today?
The upstream mraa has only support for rockpi4, as far as i can see.
However, it says it is for “low speed” communication. Does that mean it is unusable for reading signals that change every 20 µs? (microseconds)
No faster than doing it with bash and /sys?
I installed debian in a chroot to get mraa.
