Rock5B+ still support PCIe x4?

Is it possible to configure one M.2 port on the bottom of the Rock5B+ as PCIe x4, even if one port becomes disabled? I was developing a solution with the Rock5B and an M.2 capture card which uses 4 lanes of PCIe. I’ll be disappointed if x4 support is not going to be supported in the future.

If this is not possible, will the existing Rock5B stay in production for a period of time? It seems to be sold out everywhere I look.

I apologize if this has been addressed in a separate post but I don’t see any clear info on this.

I suggested to place some kind of jumper to allow 4x as well as 2x + 2x, but that did not have happened :frowning:

Thank you for the clear answer. I’m hoping the Rock5B+ retains the ability to enable one of the M.2 with a full 4 lanes, as I am trying to utilize the full lanes of the Magewell capture cards and its been working great on my Rock5B so far.

I also think that with 2x + 2x setup we loose something as well as we got some different feature.
Odroid choose different way for this problem - they just released two m.2 cards -> 4x1 and 2x2.
I still think that the perfect solution should be possible - two m.2 slots and some kind of jumper to select mode, easy, cheap and should work.

There is yet another, expensive way to solve that, it’s plx switch that should pass 4x pcie to each slot with some really small latency. This will automatically divide bandwith for each card.

Also it should be possible to make cheap adapter that will yet again connect two slots into one. This would be rather stupid idea, If You need one slot just go with 5B, but it’s some kind of option
