I was able to boot on Rock 3C using the latest image for Rock 3A. Everything seems functional, except the fact that there’s no internet. wlan adapter is not recognized, and even though ethernet is recognized (and i can see the mac address), it cannot establish a connection. How can I make it work?

  1. try to manually raise the interfaces and get the address, but before that, stop the service /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager
  2. settings via networkmanager

It doesn’t help. I’ve noticed this on the boot screen:

I thought 3C has the same Ethernet as 3A, so it won’t be a problem, but it seems that there is some incompatibility because of the different chips (RK3566 vs RK3568). Is there a way to resolve this?
I’m able to use the internet only from my phone via USB Tethering, but not from LAN, and definitely not from WLAN (which is not recognized)

In /boot/uEnv.txt try changing fdtfile=rk3568-rock-3a.dtb to rk3566-radxa-cm3-io.dtb

I thought of this yesterday and already did it. And I did it again just now, and got the same result as yesterday: It doesn’t boot at all (not even a boot screen), the cpu is getting hot (the pwm fan even started spinning).
I guess it needs a proper device tree, which i can’t find.

I found this, but I’m not an experienced Linux user and I don’t now how to excract/make a dtb file out of this.

testrk3566-rock-3c.dtb.zip (11.5 KB)
add dtbs rock 3c

I’ve added the dtb file to /boot/dtbs/6.6.0-rc5/rockchip/, changed the uEnv.txt file.
Now, there are some improvements, but there’s still no internet. The User LED now blinks (as it should). It shows me that the connection on ethernet is established, but no internet. On the port, only the green led is on, the orange one is off. Wifi adapter is finally recognized, I can even see the wifi networks from my house, but when I’m trying to connect to them it disconnects right away (not even the password request form is shown).
From dmesg:

I don’t understand this part. Besides what I did, should i do something else?

Since you can see it should connect, look in /var/log/messages to see what’s there

Update: I’m able to connect to a wifi network now. Only by creating a new connection and manually inserting SSID and password. Not by selecting the network from the panel.
Still no internet on ethernet.

I advise you to disable rc.networkmanager and use /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf
docs

Well, after playing with Slarm64 on Rock 3C (no ethernet connection from the very begining), now the ethernet is messed up. It doesn’t work even if i flash a clean official image (Debian 11). It tries to connect to the router, but without any success. I tried to connect it to a PC, using static a ip and it also doesn’t want to connect.

it all depends on where you recorded the image/bootloader and how the download is happening now, there is an option to download the wrong dtb

rock@rock-3c:~$ ls /boot
config-5.10.160-16-rk356x efi initrd.img-5.10.160-19-rk356x vmlinuz-5.10.160-16-rk356x
config-5.10.160-19-rk356x extlinux System.map-5.10.160-16-rk356x vmlinuz-5.10.160-19-rk356x
dtbo hw_intfc.conf System.map-5.10.160-19-rk356x
dtbo_old initrd.img-5.10.160-16-rk356x uEnv.txt

Where should i look?

It is advisable to disable all other media except the bootable one and check the operation.

I’m not that experienced to know how to do that.

Looks like I’m stuck with wifi only.
