Hello,
does anyone have any idea when a new Ubuntu release (24.04) for the rock5b might be coming out?
Is there something like a release plan or something similar?
Best regards,
Felix

Okay, thanks.
I have installed the radxa wireless module (wireless a8) on the rock5b, which has 2 wlan networks in ubuntu (22.04 radxa.) -> wlan0 & wlan1
Is it known that the last debian release (12) does not show wlan0 and wlan1 by default?
I have just tried, both via network-manager and via netplan i only get one wlan device displayed.
The double WLAN is dealt with in the Rock 5 FAQ: [Guide] Rock 5 series boards - troubleshooting FAQ for newcomers - Problem 6
But that’s not where i find my problem.
My problem is that 2 wlan interfaces do not appear at all. No matter whether netplan or network-manager.
Actually, i should have 2 wlan devices as standard with the wireless a8 module, right?
Only one appears. I don’t care about the naming for now.
Sorry, I misunderstood.
Yes it should have 2 wlans and I don’t know why it’s not working. I hope someone from Radxa will help you. In the meantime I recommend Joshua Riek’s Ubuntu as the Radxa distros are a bit hacky/messy.
No problem.
I already have Ubuntu 24.04 from Joshua Riek in use, which unfortunately doesn’t quite work for the wireless a8 module either. I have the same behaviour there.
Thank you in any case.

I grabbed the Riek Ubu 24.10 server image and added X/wayland with panthor. Tested good. So I added KDE 6 desktop and its running great. Only took 3 yrs to get this. Sheesh.
How do you add X/wayland with panthor?

RADXA really needs to support Joshua, he’s been working jhard creating images.
