You might want to make another thread about issues you are having. It doesn’t seem related to soldered eMMC.

I have had no problem installing OSes on the Rock Pi X. And I even installed Debian, which is presumably not as well tested. You might be doing something wrong there…

Can you go to bios screen? If yes, then attach the eMMC module and re-flash the bios under UEFI shell.

For Windows, you can not use etcher to write the image, use rufus instead:
