Bought New Rock Pi 5c, and Penta SATA HAT - not working

Hello all,

I have bought Rock 5c to use as a home server using it for Proxmox. To increase the capacity, I bought Penta SATA Hat that is sold as compatible with Radxa 5C and Raspberry Pi 5. On the internet and Penta SATA Hat wiki, I only see documentation specific to RPI5, nothing for 5C. I am assuming it works out of the box?

Bit of the detail of what I have done till now. I installed Radxa OS to eMMC. Then update debian version from Bullseye to Bookworm, and installed Proxmox. Though took some effort, but everything is working to that extent.

After proxmox was runinng, I installed Penta SATA Hat, and powered the 5C using Molex connector. The things boot ok, but I am not seeing any indication in Penta SATA Hat, and lsblk gives nothing.

Can someone please guide what I need to do to get hat work on 5C?

Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah I had same issue. I’ve tried Armbian and there was no additional discs visible, but I’ve tried RedxaOS and all SSDs + HDD is visible for me ( Rock 5C - PentaHat and EMMC )
I’m actually on this:

radxa@rock-5c:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Release: 12
Codename: bookworm

radxa@rock-5c:~$ uname -a
Linux rock-5c 6.1.43-15-rk2312 #3176a44da SMP Wed Jul 31 04:27:40 UTC 2024 aarch64 GNU/Linux

Thanks @tom.i. I will try it today and see how I go. Thanks!
