Best way to switch to NVMe

Hi. I’ve installed linux and setup a few things on my rock5. The installation is on the eMMC and i would like to transfer it to the NVMe. What’s the best way to do it?
dd if=emmc of=nvme?
how do i expand the partition to cover the entire 256 GB of my nvme instead of the 16 gig size of the emmc?

Can all of this be done through command line without taking out the emmc chip? Can I setup the SPI in a way that if NVMe is not bootable it switches to emmc?

First, make a partition on nvme device with fdisk or parted, the partition will be under /dev/nvme0n1p1. Then, move your rootfs from sd/emmc to nvme with dd dd if=/dev/disk/by-partuuid/b921b045-1df0-41c3-af44-4c6f280d3fae \ conv=sync,noerror bs=4M of=/dev/nvme0n1p1 Extend the filesystem resize2fs /dev/nvme0n1p1 Edit /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf change root=PARTUUID=b921b045-1d to root=/dev/nvme0n1p1 reboot and check mount.
