Android for Radxa Cubie A7S

I’ve made android for A7S using the official build framework. It boots OK. Maybe @radxa could be interested in adding the images, I can share the source code. I and Claude did the hard unpaid work, now you can benefit. Please reply if you are interested.

Here are the download links to the images (with BSP kernel 5.15). There are two variants: one for boards for 4 or 8 GB of memory, one for 6 GB. Use it with an 8 GB board at your risk as the memory might have different timings and a frequency of 1800 MHz, which is not implemented.

Issues:

  • Only tested with a 6 GB board as this is the one I have.
  • WiFi does not work on the first boot, second boot and further ones are fine. Ethernet works on first boot.
  • DP alt mode sound does not work. Do not try to enable pass-through in sound settings as it will just make the sound settings crash every time. Bluetooth sound works.
  • Kodi seems to support H.264 only, the built-in Videos app supports some H.265 as well.
  • Youtube videos and some other videos (Jellyfin via the browser player - it seems to be connected to the browser) are playing at 2x speed (???) - unless you use the Videos app.
  • Sometimes booting fails, if this happens, just power cycle it.
  • Do not try to factory reset, it will just make the board confused and never boot. Just reflash. Remember to select the “Start Up” option in PhoenixCard (I used 4.2.8).
